What does Sachin Tendulkar’s signature depict about his personality?

• He is one of the first sportsmen (along with Vishwanathan Anand) to receive the
Padma Vibhushan (2008)- the second highest civilian honour of India, rewarded with
Padma Shri- India's fourth highest civilian award, 1999 and Arjuna award in 1994
• He is the only cricketer to receive the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India's highest sporting honour.
• Sir Donald Bradman, the greatest batsman of all time, considered Tendulkar to have a batting style similar to his.
Trivia: Tendulkar is ambidextrous: He bats, bowls, and throws with his right hand, but writes with his left hand.

A Note before you read the Analysis

If one starts searching the Internet, there are quite a few Signature samples available and interstingly all quite different. One thing with Sports person signature samples is that more often the Signature samples are collected in the form of Autographs, which are rendered on hurry in situation when the Sportsperson has to sign for many people in the queue.
Considering this, i am not too sure under what circumstances is the sample listed in this post was taken. So, i request you to consider this fact as you go through the below analysis. There may be other samples available, whose authenticity like this one is as good as other samples available on Internet. So, lets enjoy with what we have here!

Sachin Tendulkar's Signature Analysis

Sachin Tendulkar possesses healthy self confidence in his personality. The person with self-reliance, or self-confidence, is convinced of his ability to reach the goals he sets for self. There is no better example of a player with self reliance than Sachin in the world of cricket today.

Sachin doesn’t fear failure and is very sure of his abilities. Probably that’s the reason he has proven his critics wrong time and again by coming up with consistent batting masterpieces.

He possesses defiance in his personality. A defiant person resists other's authority. This trait is often seen as resentment at being told what to do and as rebellion. It is possibly this trait that helps him not allow bowlers get on top of him and deal with them with his trademark authority.

He is a dreamer and visionary. He has always set himself goals that would be considered as unattainable by lesser people. The weight of his achievements on the field is a true testimony of his being able to dream impossible stuff and going a step further to achieve the same.

He exercises a lot of self control. Self control may be towards a particular type of goal or desire to control a certain type of fear. Such a person may not communicate freely if he is imposing control over his speech. This is so true of Sachin Tendulkar when is he addressing media especially addressing controversial issues. This is probably one trait that has helped him stay away from controversies in his career.

Sachin possess pride and dignity in his personality. Pride is a spur to achievement. He tends to expect respect from others and expect others to treat him with dignity. Dignity can also related to defense i.e. if someone tries to push him, he tend to stand above criticism. That’s probably the reason he is so widely respected.

Being an analytical thinker, he has the ability and desire to consider the pros and cons. He interprets all the facts by separating them, breaking them down, and organizing them from a critical point of view. This trait helps him to simplify thinking and coming up with great ideas on field.

Sachin is optimistic by nature. The positive thinking attitude helps him believe that tomorrow will be better day and look at the brighter side of life.

  1. Sachin Tendulkar is already a public figure. He is been Observed every time, every where.I feel whatever is written is not by analyzing his signature but as a Person he depicts he shows he is to be.
Why don't you analyze someone Else's who is not a famous person.

  3. Hi Jassi,
Thanks for visiting the blog. You are right in saying that Sachin is a public figure whose life is sructnized every now and then. Well, when i analyze the handwriting i tend to be more factual based on what handwriting says thats why i included the break-up of how i arrived at different traits in the section- "The basis of Sachin Tendulkar's Signature Analysis".
I do analyze the handwiring of people who are not so famous. If you are interested, please share yours. Its just that there are certain things which famous and successful people do differently and thats what i like to explore using Handwriting Analysis and i love doing that.

Keep visiting and provide your valuable comments.

  6. Hi Jassi,
Yes i am a Software Tester first. You can find some of my work relating Graphology and Software Testing at-

I think what you meant to ask was whether Handwiritng Analysis and Signature Analysis are one and the same things. The simple answer to that is No, they are not same.
While Handwriting reveals your true self at the time of writing and Signature usually revals your Public self. And the way you project yourself in public is not necessarily same or is usually very different from the way one actaully is.

Some more relevant information in the below post-

No need to be Sorry. Feel free to ask anything on the subject, i would be glad to answer.

  8. It is an interesting post; a good description of what Sachin's public personality is and backed by some, shall I say, clues in signature. I am not entirely sure if it is a rational science to understand a personality through signatures, but I enjoyed reading your blog.

  12. It's interesting... But you know what? I am inclined to align my thoughts with Jassi. The problem with people like Sachin who are already icons - famous and treated like God, is that a person who is analysing his signature will tend to (a) say only positive things, I don't see a single negative trait and (b) tell things that are already known about him, because he is a famous personality.

Perhaps if you test an ordinary person's signature, then I'll agree because I already know his traits and I can compare and test the accuracy of the technique.

  13. Thanks for your perspective, Nik. Some thoughts-
    1. You can check the other personalities featured in this blog, some are not really personalities as famous as Sachin.
    2. You could also look for some articles on detection of different types of ego, Sensitivity to criticism etc. using handwriting. That should give insights that Handwriting not only depicts positive character.
    3. Handwriting reveals hundreds of the person's personality traits which include glimpses into the subconscious mind, emotional responsiveness, energy, fears and defenses, motivations, imagination etc. Being a Handwriting analyst, of many things that i have learnt- one of the most important things is not to be judgmental. I do specify the traits as they are and my experience states that each trait can be good or bad depending upon a particular context or situation. A trait that can be good for one profession may not be good for others e.g. an Introvert person can be great at dealing with computers related jobs (less social interaction) whereas the same Introvert person would struggle if in Sales profession where he/she might have to constantly go out of his comfort zone to deal with people. There can be numerous such examples.

  18. @Anonymous- Seems like your intention in posting this comment is to get your handwriting analyzed and if you want to get that done, the best way is to request it and not throw an empty challenge, which has no value to me.
If you want to get your handwriting analyzed, please go through this post.
    http://thehandwritinganalyst.blogspot.in/2011/09/will-you-analyze-my-handwriting.html

Moreover, if you don’t believe what i said and wrote in my blog posts here, it’s your choice. I cannot really influence that. Probably, i would not want to impulsively take challenges to prove my skills and worth.
